Woodrow Calhoun age 90, passed away Monday, December 12, 2016. Mr. Calhoun was born in Dickenson County and lived in Ohio for many years. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in World War II and was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Calhoun was preceded in death by his wife Beatrice Calhoun, son, Michael Lee Calhoun and brothers Joe Calhoun, Gene Calhoun, Bill Calhoun and sisters Dora Wright, Mabel Lobo and Sue Napier.

Survivors include his son Randall Calhoun and wife Linda Sue of Clintwood; one daughter, Sandra Jean Calhoun Boone and husband Robert of Laurel, Indiana; two brothers, Charles and Douglas Calhoun of Indiana; one sister, Sidney Napier of Lexington IN ; grandchildren, Jasmine Calhoun, Corey Bolling, Ashley Boone, Mallory Carlton, Haley Lewis, Stacey Estes and Cody Boone, elven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Friday Dec. 16th at Powell Valley Memorial Garderns, Big Stone Gap, VA. with Glenn Slemp officiating. Military Graveside services conducted by VFW Honors Team and the Virginia Army National Guard. Family and Friends will serve as Pallbearers. The Family will receive friends from 12:30 till service time at the Chapel at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens.
