Willie Carter Rose age 79, passed away Monday, December 3, 2018.  He was a lifelong resident of Dickenson County, retired coal miner, and a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather.  Mr. Rose was a member of Hill Ridge Church, a Freewill Baptist minister and a member of the John Thomas Association.

Mr. Rose was preceded in death by his parents, Barney and Mae Rose, wife Barbara Rose, and a sister Wilma Greer.

Survivors include 3 sons, David Rose and wife Tennie, Troy Rose and wife Jennifer, Chris Rose and wife Lynn all of Clintwood; daughter, Sherry Deel and husband Matthew of Dante, Virginia; 4 brothers, Lee Rose and wife Sue of Culpepper, Virginia, Palmer Rose and wife Judy of Clintwood, Bernie Rose and wife Gaynell of  Hansonville,Virginia and Ron Rose and wife Donna of Abingdon, Virginia; 2 sisters, Pearl Blackstone and husband Don of Clintwood and Joyce Rose of Abingdon, Virginia; 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 5 ^th from 5PM until 7 PM in the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel. A service will begin at 7 PM.  Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, December 6 ^th 11 AM, at the funeral home with Matthew Deel and P. J. Rose officiating.  Burial will follow in the Fleming-Rose Cemetery on Frank Large Road, Clintwood.  Family members will serve as pallbearers.
