William Walter Davis age 90, passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at his residence. Mr. Davis was a lifelong resident of Dickenson County and was of the Freewill Baptist faith.  He was a United States Army Veteran, having served in World War II and a retired coal miner.

Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his parents, William and Eura Davis, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

Survivors include his wife Rosabelle Davis of Clintwood; four sons, Walter Lee Davis and wife Anna of Largo, Florida, Jimmy Ray Davis and wife Bobbie Jean of Clintwood, Donald Davis and wife Lorrine of Clintwood and Mitchell Davis of Wise, Virginia; his daughter, Gay Hughes of London, Kentucky; one brother, Clyde Ed Davis of Clintwood; sixteen grandchildren, several great and great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, October 14th at 1:00 PM in the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Frank Hall officiating.  Family will receive friends beginning at 12 Noon.  Burial will follow in the Phipps Memorial Cemetery.  Grandsons will  serve as pallbearers.
