Willard Artrip, age 86, passed away Friday, December 28, 2012 at his residence. Mr. Artrip was born in Pike County Kentucky, a Veteran of the United States Army, a retired coal miner and was of the Freewill Baptist faith. Mr. Artrip was preceded in death by his parents, James. B. and Mertie Robinson Artrip; two sons, Darrell Gray Artrip and Donald Mack Artrip; one daughter, Judy Ann Meade; three brothers, Millard Artrip, Johnny Artrip and Nelson Mullins, Jr.; four sisters,Alberta Dye,Estelle Meade,Nell Mooney and Geneva Artrip. He is survived by his wife, Leoda Artrip of Clintwood; two sons, Barry N. Artrip and wife Deb of Keokee, Virginia and Billy L. Artrip of Clintwood; three daughters, Norma Jean Kendrick and husband Gary, Sandy Moore and husband Leo all of Clintwood and Linda Cox and husband Jessie of Pound, Virginia; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held, Monday, December 31st, in the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 pm with Pastor Lynn Vanover officiating. Burial will follow at the Phipps Memorial Cemetery, where a military graveside service will be conducted by the VFW. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Family will receive friends at the funeral home, Sunday, December 30th after 6:00 pm. A song service will begin at 7:00 pm.
