Vester Woods, age 60, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2011 at Wellmont-Holston Valley Hospital in Kingsport, Tennessee. Mr. Woods was a graduate of Haysi High School and a retired surface miner. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Woods was preceded in death by his parents, Carson and Maggie Barton Woods. Survivors include his wife, Donna Woods of Clintwood, Virginia, one brother Clay Woods and wife Phoeba of Haysi, Virginia, and one sister Fern Coleman of Vansant, Virginia. Other survivors are his mother-in-law, Evelyn Mullins of Clintwood, Virginia, sister-in-law Betty Thacker of Norton, Virginia and several much loved nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted, Tuesday, May 24th, 7:00 PM at the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Allen Viers officiating. Graveside services will be Wednesday, May 25th, 1:00 PM at Smith Cemetery, Longs Fork Community. Pallbearers will be Craig Coleman, Bryan Coleman, Barry Coleman, Donald Bare, Chad Bare and Emory Browning. Honorary pallbearers are Walter Bryant and Clay Woods. Family will receive friends Tuesday beginning at 6:00 PM at the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel.
