Tooney C. Hawkins age 70, passed away Monday July 17, 2006 following a long, courageous battle with cancer. He was born April 24, 1936 in Clintwood, VA, the son of the late Thomas J. and Lou Cindy (Mullins) Hawkins. On July 19, 1958 he married Elizabeth Davis and she survives. He was employed by the Ford Motor Company, Ypsilanti Plant for 31 years, retiring in 1998. He was a serious Elvis and 1950s fan. Surviving are his loving wife of 48 years Elizabeth Hawkins, three children Susan (Rick) Rowe, Robert (Yasmine) Hawkins and Brian (friend Janette) Hawkins; three grandchildren, Michael, Leahanne and Kiko; four great grandchildren; Virginia, Nathan, Elizabeth and Jake; two sisters Garnette Blansette and Jean Mullins; two brothers Harry and David Hawkins; special cousin, Mac Mullins, along with several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Tooney C. Hawkins will be conducted at 1:00 PM Friday from the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Larry Younce officiating. Burial will follow in the Phipps Memorial Cemetery, Clintwood. The family will receive friends after 6:00 PM Thursday, with a service to follow at 7:00 PM. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers are George Mullins, Mac Mullins, Bob Mullins, Jim Mullins and Tim Mullins.
