Tonya Deneen Cox, of Clintwood, Virginia, passed away on June 14, 2026, following a long battle with pancreatic cancer. She was 51 years old.

Tonya was born on December 5, 1974, to Milton Lee Cox and Sheila Cox.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Poley and Minnie Phipps; her paternal grandparents, Orville and Lakie Cox; and her nephew, Benjamin Kelson Cox.

Tonya is survived by her parents, Milton Lee Cox and Sheila Cox; her brother, Brian Cox and spouse, Valery Cox; her children, Brandon Cox and wife, Deidre Cox, Brianna Cox, and Britney Pridemore and husband, Nikalos Pridemore; her nephew, Morgan Cox and wife, Karlie Cox; her grand-nephews, Elijah Cox and Kelson Cox; and her beloved grandchildren, Cassidy Cox, Kora Cox, Monroe Cox, and Lucian Pridemore.

Tonya will be remembered and dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be 1 PM Wednesday June 17, 2026, at the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Tim Mullins officiating. Burial will follow at the Phipps Memorial Cemetery, Main Street Clintwood. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family will receive friends from 12 noon till service time.
