Thomas Stanford Rose, age 86, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2011 at Heritage Hall. Mr. Rose was a life long resident of Dickenson County and a Veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Army. He was retired from Clinchfield Coal Company and was of the Old Regular Baptist faith. Mr. Rose was preceded in death by his wives, June Delaney Rose and Mildred Cantrell Rose, his parents Jim and Sarah Rose and one son, Thomas Anthony Rose. Survivors are one step-son, Larry Delaney and wife Mona of Clintwood, Virginia, two step-daughters, Suzette Robinson of Wise, Virginia and Connie Clark of Big Stone Gap, Virginia. Other survivors include one sister, Vivian Mullins of Clintwood, Virginia and four granddaughters, Marnie Mullins and husband Freddie Elmer, Anna Delaney and fiancé J.F. Barton, Vicky Kay and husband Rick and Hannah Robinson, one great granddaughter, Rachel Catherine Mullins, in addition to a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, May 1st, 11:00 AM at the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Elders Willie Cantrell, Trinkle Mullins and Carl Mullins officiating. Burial will follow at the Nerman Rose Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. A military service will be conducted by the VFW. The family will receive friends, Saturday, April 30th after 6:00 PM with a service beginning at 7:00 PM
