Thadeus Oakley Mullins age 81, was born on March 26, 1926 in the Caney Ridge section of Dickenson County. He died March 12, 2008 at the Dickenson Community Hospital in Clintwood. He has resided in the Caney Ridge community his entire life. Oak, as he was commonly referred to by all, was a retired coal miner. He retired from the Pittston Coal Company in 1984 after 36 years of service. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, stationed in Germany. He was a 50 year member of the Clintwood Masonic Lodge and a member of Rugsby Freewill Baptist Church for over 50 years. Oak was preceded in death by his parents Gillie & Pearl Mullins. He was also preceded by brothers Webb, William Gip, Parkis (Chief), Ersle, Kay and Eck Mullins. Oak is survived by his wife of 56 years Seader L. Mullins; sons Norman Mullins, Caney Ridge, Doug (Michelle) Mullins, Clintwood, daughters Rebecca (Jerry) Artrip, and Mary Ann (Pokey) Stanley all of Clintwood; two special grandsons, Caleb Mullins and Oakley Kerns Stanley both of Clintwood; sisters Nita Ratliff, Caney Ridge, and Vona Mullins, Clintwood; also surviving are several special loving nieces and nephews.
