Obituary

Stuart Wayne Bostic, age 65, of Clintwood, Virginia, passed away on February 5th, 2023, at Johnson City Medical Center.  Stuart was a lifelong resident of Dickenson County and a member of Peuther Chapel Freewill Baptist Church on Caney Ridge.  He was a graduate of Clintwood High School, class of 1975.  Stuart loved a good joke and had a contagious laugh for everyone around him.  He also earned the CB handle as the Four-Way-Kid after saving money for his first truck by working at that same filling station.  Stuart was a passionate family man with a big heart, helped everyone he could, and loved his Mother's fried pies with syrup.  Stuart loved the lord, and his favorite verse was Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

Stuart was preceded in death by his parents, Dock and Virgie Bostic, baby brother Eugene and sister Jane, and husband Alfred Baker.  Father-in-law and mother-in-law Ray and Mable Dixon, sisters-in-law Judy Mullins and Connie Willis.  He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Dorothy Irene Bostic, a daughter Stephanie Hawkins, son Bradley Bostic and his wife, Brittany.  Stuart was a proud grandfather of Emily and fiancé Cole, Josh, Havana, Hayden, and Holden and a great-grandfather to Liam.  He was also survived by sister Martha Tolley, Brother Willis Bostic, his wife, Doris Bostic, and several nieces and nephews who all loved him dearly.

Funeral services for Stuart Wayne Bostic will be conducted Wednesday,  February 8th, 2023, 1 pm at Peuther Chapel Church with Pastor Joe Glenn Sluss, Lynn Vanover and Norman Cumbo officiating. Visitation will begin at 12 Noon.  Burial will follow at the Bostic Family Cemetery, Bise Ridge Section of Caney Ridge.  Stuart will be laid to rest beside his mommy, who he declared his angel. Pallbearers will be; Jacob Cumbo, Trent Cumbo, Shane Mullins, Jason Mullins, Stevie Mullins, Dennis Baker, Kenny Baker, Jerry Baker, Martin Hawkins, Josh Hawkins, Cole Artrip, Brian Bostic and David Tolley.  Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren, great-grandson, members of Peuther Chapel Church, David Buchanan, Greg Willis and Johnny Dixon.
