Shirley Gean Phillips age 70 passed away Sat. August 10, 2024 at the Fort Sanders Medical Center, Knoxville, TN. She was born in Dante, VA. and attended Haysi High School, she enjoyed family time, playing Yahtzee with friends, taking care of pets, artwork with painting and ceramics.

She is preceded in death by her mother Thelma Austin Mann, husband Joe S. Phillips, infant son Joe Jr.  infant grandchild Cheryl Anne Dean, 4 sisters and 1 brother.

Survivors include her son Stephen Phillips and wife Heather, Castlewood, VA. two daughters Shelly Jo Phillips Dean and husband Shawn, Newbern, NC. And Tonya Vinson and husband Jeff, Kingsport, TN. Her companion Kevin Gilbert of Dandridge, TN. Her grandchildren, Colby Dean, Logan Dean, Riley Dean, Isaac Vinson, Caleb Vinson, Whitley Phillips, and Isabella Phillips, great grandchildren, Killian Dean, Bayne Dean, Taysom Dean and Aurora Johnson, special friends Suzy Wright and Barbara Phillips, along with nieces, nephews and host of other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held Thurs. evening August 15, 2024 Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel at  7 PM with Conn Edwards officiating, The family will receive friends from 6 PM till service time.
