Shelly Ruth Elkins, age 38, passed away Sunday, September 2, 2012 at Johnson City Medical Center, Johnson City, Tennessee. Mrs. Elkins was a member of the Dwale Community Church and a 1992 graduate of Clintwood High School. Mrs. Elkins is survived by her husband, Jason Elkins; parents, Bernard and Ellen Mullins and one son Kenneth Scott Mullins all of Clintwood. Other survivors include one brother, Stratton Mullins and wife Bridgett of Clintwood; nephew, Caleb Drew Mullins; mother-in-law Delilah Graham and husband Danny of Norton, Virginia; father-in-law John A. Elkins of Clintwood; numerous aunts and uncles, brother-in-law, Brandon Dorton, sister-in-law, Chrissy Dorton; nephews, Evan, Noah, and Joshua Dorton ; other relatives and special pet companion Elvis. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, September 5th, 1:00 pm in the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Doug Stone and Tommy Austin officiating. Burial will follow at the Dewey Fleming Cemetery, in the Osborne Gap section of Dickenson County. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends, Tuesday, September 4th, 6:00 pm at the Clintwood Funeral Home where a service will begin at 7:00 pm.
