Sandra S. Mullins, age 78 passed away Sunday December 7, 2014 at the Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston, WV. Mrs. Mullins was a lifelong resident of Clintwood and a 1955 graduate of Clintwood High School. She received a two year business degree and retired from First Community Bank with over 30 years of service. Mrs. Mullins was a member of the Chase Rebekah Lodge #49 and Eastern Star. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She traveled abroad and had a love for her flower gardens and cats. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucian and Theda Smith; husband, Billy Mullins; three brothers, Harold Smith, Paul Smith and Micky Smith; grandson, Cpl. Jordie Kidd. Survivors include her sons David Elswick and wife Debbie, West Virginia, Wes Elswick and wife Brenda, Clinchco, Virginia and Phillip Elswick and wife Kim, of Clintwood; one daughter Stephanie Blansett, Clintwood; one sister Lorranine Anderson of Baltimore, Maryland; grandchildren, Cossie Elswick, Emily Blansett, Wesley Elswick, Kaylee Hutchenson, Lacinda Trammell, Jay Mullins, Kimmy Mullins, Natasha Elswick, William Castle, Devin Elswick, Ryan Elswick, and Koen Elswick; seven great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Receiving of friends will be 5:00 pm on Friday, December 12th, with services conducted by Pastor Joe Glenn Sluss at 7:00 pm in the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel. Family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home at 10:30 am on Saturday, December 13th, to proceed to Phipps Memorial Cemetery Main Street , Clintwood for 11:00 am graveside service. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
