Mary Ruth Collins age, 94 passed away Thursday, May 3, 2018 at her home. Mrs. Collins was born in Lee County, Virginia to the late Cecil and Grace Burnette.  She was a member of the Clinchco Missionary Baptist Church and a was a loving Mother and Grandmother.

Mrs. Collins was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Grace Burnette; husband, Max Collins; step-mother, Hallie Burnette; 2 sisters, Edith Krzywdzinski and Virginia Burke; 2 brothers, David Burnette and Bud Burnette; half-brother, Jimmy Burnette; 2 sons-in-law, Howard Sutton and H. D. Mullins.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Janet Mullins of Clintwood and Patricia Sutton of Kingsport, Tennessee; grandson, Darrin Mays and wife Rhonda of Clintwood; 2 great grandsons, William Mays, Andrew Mays and wife Kristen; 2 great-great granddaughters, Presleigh and Raelynn Mays; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff of Clintwood Home Nursing.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 7th at 7 PM in the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Randy Moore officiating.  Visitation will begin at 5 PM.  Family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home at 10 AM on Tuesday, May 8th, to proceed to the Burnette Family Cemetery, Pleasant View Road, Rose Hill, Virginia for graveside services at Noon. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
