Ruby Faye Slemp age 61, passed away Monday, July 13. 2026 at Dickenson Community Hospital, Clintwood. Mrs. Slemp was born in Cumberland, Kentucky to the late Warren and Lassie Metcalfe. She attended Davis Chapel Church and was of the Christian faith. Mrs. Slemp last worked for A&A Security. She loved the outdoors, camping and time with family.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Slemp was preceded in death by her sisters, Louise Turner, Deborah Davidson and Sandra Metcalfe; brothers, Raymond Metcalfe and Ron Metcalfe; a special nephew, David Turner.

Leave to cherish her memory are her husband, Jack Slemp; daughter, Megan Koukal and Adam of Maine; grandchildren, Charlotte and Cooper Koukal; stepchildren, Jackie Slemp and Sarah of Haysi, Tina Clay and Lanice of Clintwood and Tony Slemp of Clintwood; step-grandchildren, Hunter, Shelby, Nina, Kyle, Justin, Gracie, Issac, Ethan, Lilly, Kason and Karter; several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, July 19th, 7 pm at the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Tom Slemp officiating. Visitation will begin at 6 pm.
