Ruby Meade Fleming, age 89, went home to be with the Lord on August 10, 2012 at home surrounded by her family. She was a lifelong resident of Dickenson County and a member of the Valley View Freewill Baptist Church. Ruby had a special place in her heart for her beloved pets. She looked forward to the spring and summer seasons so she could care for her beautiful flowers and watch her hummingbirds. She loved to sit on her front porch and enjoy visits by her family and friends. Ruby loved her family and especially her church family. Mrs. Fleming was preceded in death by her husband, Holland; children, Charles William, Ronald Lee, Louis Ray, and Judith Diane; parents, Arvil and Virgie Meade; sisters, Thelma Willis and Mary Lou Drake; brothers, Charles Meade, Houston Meade, Winford Meade and Hubert Meade. She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Sue Grillo and husband, Sam; son, Sammy Dean Fleming and wife, Cathy; grandchildren, Anthony Grillo, Jason Fleming and wife, Holly, Jennifer Davis and husband, Jon, and Jon-Michael Fleming and wife Emili; great-grandchildren, Ashley and Samantha Grillo and Gavin Davis; several special nieces and nephews, special cousin Janice Stanley, her sister-in-law Easter Meade and her best friends, Zetta Crabtree and Irene Stone. Funeral services will be Monday, August 13, 2012, 11:00 am in the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Lynn Vanover officiating. Burial will follow at the Fleming Family Cemetery in the Camp Creek Community. Pallbearers will be Anthony Grillo, Jason Fleming, Jon-Michael Fleming, Jon Davis and nephews. Family will receive friends Sunday evening after 5:30 pm at the Clintwood Funeral Home where a song service will begin at 7:00 pm.
