Ruby Margaret Carty, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at Russell County Medical Center after contracting Covid.  She had her family by her side.  Margaret was born on December 16, 1934.  She passed just 8 days before her 87th birthday.

Dickenson County lost one of its Angels that day.  She is remembered by family as a sweet Spirit, who had a kind smile and was easy to laugh, especially at herself.  She leaves us with some sweet memories of days past.

Margaret was an awesome cook as most of you know.  She loved to garden and continued to care for her flowers even in her later years.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Odell Carty; her parents, Carl and Hazel Large; and sister, Georgia Leigh Sluss.

Those left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Rebecca Jane Lester (Stephen) of Salem, Va and Jo Ann Kennedy (Dennis) of Clintwood, Va; one son, James Dale Carty of Clintwood, Va; three grandchildren, Dennis Kennedy Jr. (Amanda) of Clintwwod, Va, Kimberly Tennant ( Billy)of Salem, Va, Angela Helvey ( Mike) of Chespeake, Va; eight great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Ruth Ann, Rachel and Elizabeth Kennedy; Morgan, Courtney and Sarah Tennant; Elaina Helvey; one brother, James T. Large of Locust Grove, Va.

Her family would like to thank everyone for the prayers and acts of kindness during this very difficult time.  Out of respect for Margaret's wishes no services will be held.
