Obituary

Eugene Gayle & Ruby Lee Vanover Beverly, both 86, of Bedford Virginia was placed in the hands of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday October 14th& 18th, 2014 respectively. Eugene served in two branches of the military during the Korean War. Following his service he worked as a machinist for approximately 10 years before becoming a home builder. He enjoyed the outdoors, cooking, building, and being with family. He is preceded in death by parents Alex and Cora Thompkins;Siblings Frank Beverly, and Grace Edwards. Ruby was a dedicated Nurse, mother, caregiver and devout Christian throughout her life and also loved her family deeply. She is preceded in death by parents Clarence E. and Nora Swindall Vanover; Siblings Magdalene Hensley, James Vanover, Arbutus Mullins , Jackie Dutka & Clarence E. Vanover Jr. Survivors include three sons, Bernard, Michael and Cass; surviving siblings; Charles Vanover of Inman South Carolina, Trula (Joyce) Potter of Westland Michigan, and Janice Johnson of Columbia Tenenssee. Left to cherish their memory is a multitude of family and friends. They touched so many hearts in their 64 years together and will truly be missed. In lieu of flowers send donations to Alzheimer Association, 3959 Electric Rd, Roanoke, VA 24018. The Beverly's will receive friends and family on Sunday 10/19/14 from 1pm to 3pm at Clintwood Colley Funeral Home, 202 McClure Avenue, Clintwood, VA 24228 followed by a graveside service at M.T. Swindall cemetery in Osborne Gap Virginia at 4pm. Shirley Mullins and Charles Vanover will be officiating.
