Ronnie Lee
Owens
Apr 21, 1962 — Dec 2, 2023
With great sadness, I will attempt to write the obituary of my dear and loving Nephew, Ronnie Lee Owens.
Ronnie passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving wife and two beautiful children. Ronnie was born April 21, 1962 and departed this life December 2, 2023, making his early stay 61 years. Ronnie was the son of the late George Owens and Fern Owens Fletcher. He was born and raised in Dickenson County and has lived in Bristol, VA for the past 30+ years.
Ronnie graduated from Haysi High School in 1980. He worked with Camac Corporation for 20 years. Then recent years, he had worked with Stanley Black & Decker Securities as a Banking System Technician. His last job was with Federal Pacific Electro-Mechanical Corporation.
In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by his Step-Father, JD Fletcher; paternal grand-parents, Wiley and Elizabeth Cantrell Owens; maternal grand-parents, Tivis and Stella Wood Fuller; mother-in-law, Sandra Powers and step-brother, Rick Fletcher all of Dickenson County, Va.
He leaves to mourn, his wife Kimberly Powers Owens of 32 years, his son, Samuel Fisher and daughter, Sophie Grayce Owens all of Bristol, Va.; his father-in-law, Harvey Powers; his Sister, Sherry Lynn Owens Willis and step-sister, Kemberly Fletcher Turner Mullins both of Clintwood, Va.; niece, Jessica LeeAnn Willis Sutherland (Luke), nephew, Joshua Tivis Willis (Leslie); great-nieces, Abigail and Alexandria Sutherland; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Ronnie was a member of Highlands Fellowship Church, Abingdon, Va. He loved playing music as a drummer in his younger years. However, Ronnie's passion was the outdoors- fishing, gardening, playing cornhole and above all hunting. Ronnie loved and enjoyed his friends so much and his time in nature was his great joy.
Ronnie's presence with us will be sorely missed long after the sorrow and sadness of seeing him suffer and decline with an extended illness. We believe that it was Ronnie's time to pass from us and be in the Hands of our loving and merciful God. Obituary written by Uncle John Fuller.
Visitation and Song Service by Matthew Fuller and Family will be conducted 6PM Thursday Dec. 07, 2023, Highlands Fellowship Church, 134 Commerce Court, Bristol, Va. 24202.
Clintwood Colley Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Private Interment will be at Forest Hills Memory Gardens in Abingdon, Va.
