Ronnie Kenneth Barton age 66, passed away Thurs. Jan. 19, 2023 at the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC.  Born in Haysi, Virginia the son of the late Henry and Mary Barton, graduated Botetourt High School. He worked as a coal miner in southwest Virginia for many years. After relocating to Raiford Florida he worked as a correctional officer retiring as a sergeant. After retirement he moved to Bland County where he enjoyed time with his Family, hunting and fishing on his farmland.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Tammy Barton, grandson Kyle Miller, a brother Timmy Barton, sisters; Phyllis Johnson, Cathy Sullivan and Judy Counts, mother in law Goldie Funk Newberry.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years Twyla Funk Barton, Ceres, VA. one son Ronnie Barton, Jr. and girlfriend Shelly along with her children Mia and Jordyn. One daughter Renay Miller and husband Ronnie of Franklin County, VA. brother James Surratt, sisters Vivian McConnel, Brenda Wilson, Donna Duncan and husband Bill, Wanda Matney and Virginia "Sissy" Surratt. Grandchildren Austin Miller, Konnor Blanton, special friends Kaitlyn Yawt and Gannon, and all friends in the Marion Community.

Ronnie wishes were for a private memorial service at a later date.
