Ronald Eual Adkins age 70, passed away Friday Feb. 7, 2014 at the Norton Community Hospital, Norton, VA. Born the son of Troy and Hattie Lane Adkins he lived most of his life in Dickenson County. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in Vietnam. He was a truck driver for many years and worked with Clintwood-Colley Funeral Home. He is preceded in death by his father, his wife Nancy Yates Adkins, and one sister Linda Davis. Survivors include his daughters Rhonda Hill and husband Michael, Coeburn, VA. Lahoma Rose and husband Donald, Pikeville, KY. Mother Hattie Lane Adkins, Wise, VA. Two brothers; Randy Adkins, Fort Mill, SC. And Ricky Adkins, Lavonia, GA. Four sisters; June Brown and Betty Cussins both of Clintwood, VA. Peggy Gentry, Wise, VA. Barbara Carter, Abingdon, VA. two grandchildren Michael Hill Jr., and Lillian Josephine Hill along with several nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 Tues. Feb.11, 2013 at the Clintwood Funeral Home chapel with Mike Stidham, Kyle Rose and Martin Funk officiating. Burial will follow at the Yates Family Cemetery , Lower Georges Fork. Pallbearers will be Danny Carter, Michael Hill, Scott Stanley, Jerry Stanley, Donald Rose and Donnie Stanley. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Monday evening at the Clintwood Funeral home with a song service at 7 PM.
