Rita Newberry Ramey age 84, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2018. She was a lifelong resident of Dickenson County.  Mrs. Ramey was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.  She attended the Pound River Church Brethren and was a friend to many.

Mrs. Ramey was preceded in death by her parents, Hansel and Maxie Newberry; husband, Harry Dean Ramey; three sons, Jerry, Jimmy and Gary Ramey; one, sister, Edith Robinson and one brother, Elmer Newberry.

Survivors include two daughters, Fern Branham and husband Ronnie, Arlene Kilgore and husband Thomas all of Clintwood; grandchildren, Terri Hayes and husband Shannon, Cassandra Culbertson and husband Jonnie, Heather Mullins and husband Jason, Brad Ramey and wife Toni, Andrew Younce and wife Bethany and Wes Branham; two brothers, Johnny Newberry and wife Betty, Harold Newberry and wife Kathy all of Florida; three sisters, Betty Mullins of Clintwood, Beatrice Bohnsack and Ona Walters both of Florida; fourteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; caregiver, Carol Moore.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 31st at 7 PM in the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Rose and Tommy Austin officiating.   Visitation will begin at 6 PM.  A graveside service will be held at 1 pm Sunday, April 1st, at the Ramey Cemetery on Big Smith Ridge Road.  Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews, honorary pallbearers are brothers and in laws.
