Obituary

Ricky Lee Cox age 61, passed away unexpectedly on December 2, 2020. Formerly from Clintwood, Virginia, Ricky was a resident at the Bradley House in Abingdon, Virginia. He was a special person who loved everyone and was loved by everyone. Ricky grew up in Clintwood and once was a manager of the CHS football team. He was a devout "Greenwave" and Washington "Redskins" fan and his Christmas gift wish always included six pair of "Redskins" socks.

The Bradley House Thanksgiving dinner, Christmas party, his birthday and talking with his cousin, Fran, every Monday night, promptly at 5pm, were the highlights of his life. Rarely did you get through one event until he was planning the next event.

Ricky was preceded in death by his parents, O.D. and Pat Cox, his aunts, Mary Dean Lambert, Gerry Buchanan, Anna White and his uncle, John Fleming.

Ricky was of the Christian faith and was a member of Soul's Harbor Church in Damascus, Virginia.

Special thanks to the Director and Staff of the Bradley House in Abingdon, where he was always treated with dignity, respect and loving care.

There will be a visitation at Clintwood Funeral Home from 11 am until Noon on Saturday, December 5 th , with a private burial to follow in the Maple Grove Church Cemetery on Sandy Ridge.

Services  will be held under the current COVID 19 guidelines set forth by the governor of Virginia.
