Richard Glenn Howard, 56, passed away Friday, April 25, 2014 at the Dickenson Community Hospital, Clintwood, Virginia. Mr. Howard was the son of Robert and Minnie Howard, a lifelong resident of Dickenson County and he worked in logging for many years. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Howard. Survivors include his wife, Suzanne Howard of McClure and mother, Minnie Howard of Dante; five sons, Michael Parton, Jonathan Walenter, Bobby Walenter, Gregory Howard and Richie Howard; four brothers, Willie Bud Howard and wife Lisa of Nora, Virgil Howard and wife Kathleen, C.A. Howard and wife Sherry, and Doug Howard and wife Shirley, all of Dante; one sister, Trula Stevens of Castlewood and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 26th, 7:00 pm at the Trammel Baptist Church with Palmer Leftwich and Darrell Milgrim officiating. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm. Family and friends are requested to meet at the church at 1:30 pm on Sunday, April 27th to proceed to Neece Family Cemetery for graveside services. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
