Pearl C. Kennedy, age 79, passed away Sunday, August 28th, 2011 at Bristol Regional Medical Center, Bristol, Tennessee. Mrs. Kennedy was a life long resident of Clintwood and worked for many years for the Town of Clintwood. She was a member of the Honey Camp Free Will Baptist Church. Mrs. Kennedy was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Ayers Kennedy, her parents, Charlie and Failie Blevins Hamilton, daughter, Wilma Slemp, three brothers and one sister. Survivors include one son, Dennis Kennedy and wife Jo Ann, one daughter, Glenna Robbins and husband David and son-in-law Tom Slemp, all of Clintwood; four grandchildren, Roger Lee Elkins, Jimmy France, Teresa Sykes and Dennis Kennedy, Jr.; 10 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren and all other extended family members. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, August 31st at 11:00 AM in the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with David Mullins and Tom Slemp officiating. Burial will follow at the Kennedy and Stanley Family Cemetery on Caney Ridge. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Family will receive friends Tuesday, August 30th after 6:00 PM with a song service beginning at 7:00 PM.
