Obituary

Paula Gayle Blevins (80) passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 24, 2024 at Norton Community Hospital. She was a lifelong resident of Dickenson County, growing up and raising a family on Caney Ridge. She was the daughter of the late Cecil and Reable (Boggs) Salyer. Paula was a homemaker and was well-known as a skilled seamstress, an excellent cook, and an avid gardener. She was the kindest, most caring mother, "grandmama," sister, and friend who spent her entire life taking care of others.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Jerry and her husband, James.

Survivors include her daughter, Susan (Jonathan) Mullins and son, Wes Blevins. Three sisters, Iretta (Doyle) Salyers, Lucy (Mike) Ratliff, and Fern (James) Christian. And one brother, Rex (Susie) Salyer. Four grandchildren, Karrie (Aaron) Moses, Travis (Courtney) Blevins, Katy (Damon) Vance, and Kenzie (Cody) Sheets. Six Great Grandchildren, Caroline Willis, Amelia Moses, Hank Blevins, Emmy Lou Blevins, Rubye Blevins, Keith Blevins and a special daughter-in-law, Debbie Blevins.

Funeral Services for Paula Gayle Blevins will be conducted 12 Noon, Saturday, December 28, 2024 at Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Richard Hill officiating. Visitation will begin at 11 am until time of service.  Burial will follow at the Salyer Cemetery, Caney Ridge Road.  Pallbearers will be family and friends.
