Patricia Ann Carr, born December 19, 1936, passed away on October 25, 2015 at the Heritage Hall Healthcare center where she had lived for the last six years. She leaves behind her many beautiful friends and caretakers in the city of Clintwood, Virginia. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Maurice Carr and Delora Mae Pope Carr, originally from Harrogate, TN, and Harlan County, KY, and brothers Joseph Edwin Carr and Jack Maurice Carr from Knoxville, TN. Pat is survived by her sister Betty J. Biggs at the Hatley Health Care center in Clanton, AL , and her aunt Lola Wells (age 106) in Cincinnati, OH; nephews: Steve Vickers (Clanton, AL), Jeff Vickers (Jensen Beach, FL), David Carr, (Libertyville, IL), Robert Biggs (Dayton, OH), and nieces: Joanne Stanfield (Chattanooga, TN), Rebecca Biggs (Dandridge, TN), Virginia Smith (Tazewell, TN), and Mary Carr McDonald (Maryville, TN); and cousins in the states of Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Florida. Pat traveled extensively throughout her life, living in Lexington, KY as a youth where her father was editor of the Lexington Herald, and as an adult in the cities of New York City, Washington, DC, and Miami, FL, as well as in Europe. She would often return to her mother's home in Knoxville to stay for extended periods between her travels. Pat was blessed to find her final home at the Heritage Hall Healthcare, where she made many friends and acquaintances. The biological family members wish to send their deepest gratitude to her Clintwood family for their loving care to Pat in her last years. Because Clintwood became her beloved home, Pat chose to have her final resting place at the Phipps cemetery in Clintwood. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, 2:00 p.m. at the Clintwood-Colley Funeral Home, followed by the burial.
