Obituary

Patricia (Trish) Ann Brockhoff, 65, courageously concluded her long battle with cancer on Tuesday, November 12, 2024. She fought the good fight and finished the race with grace and resilience. Trish, of the Freewill Baptist faith, met the love of her life, Meldon Brockhoff, when she was just 13 years old. Together, they shared an incredible 53-year journey, married on June 25,1976 celebrating 48 years of joyful marriage. Trish was a proud alumna of Clintwood High School and devoted her life to her family, caring for her husband, children, and those closest to her with unmatched love and dedication.

Trish loved to shop, often saying she could "shop till she dropped," and she found joy in planning family weekend getaways. Her beloved Yorkie, "Giz," was her constant protector. She fiercely defended her children and was a pillar of strength, teaching that family always comes first. When her grandson Bentley was born, she lovingly said, "Our family is complete." Trish will be remembered for her love of family, her humor, her baking and cooking, and the joy she brought to those around her.

Trish was born on Friday, May 22, 1959, to the late George and Nina Anderson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Garland Anderson. She is survived by her soulmate of 53 years, Meldon Brockhoff; daughter Melanie Meade (Craig) of Kingsport, TN; son Meldon Brockhoff Jr. (Sheena) of Clintwood, VA; grandson Bentley Brockhoff of Clintwood, VA; her beloved fur baby, Giz; and lifelong best friend whom she called her sister, Teresa Fleming (Rodney) of Clintwood, VA. She is also survived by her four brothers, Ronnie Anderson (Drema) of Calabash, NC, Eugene Anderson (Mona) of Abingdon, VA, Daris Anderson (Peggy) of Clintwood, VA, and Danny Anderson (Kathy) of Kingsport, TN; two sisters, Becky Rose (Randy) of Lebanon, VA, and Carolyn Mitchell (Chris) of Grundy, VA; and special sister-in-law Okie Stoots (Eddie) of Wytheville, VA. Trish is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Among them, two special nephews, Noah and Luke Anderson, held an especially dear place in her heart.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Jesse Begley, who became like family to Trish through her compassionate care, and to the kind staff from Amedisys Hospice for their support.

A private celebration of life for family and friends will be held at Clintwood Funeral Home on Saturday November 16, 2024 2pm-3pm, followed by a private burial at Phipps Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Craig Meade, Luke Anderson, Randy Rose, Shannon Senter, Cannon Hill, and Eddie Stoots.
