Oscar Curtis Silcox age 78, passed away Thurs. December 8, 2011 at the Dickenson Community Hospital, Clintwood, Virginia. He was born the son of the late David and Louisa Silcox , living in Dickenson County for his life time. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving with 712th Trans. Railway Operating BN Korea. A member of the VFW Post #8979 where he assisted Veterans with Service related issues. He was a former employee of the Breaks Interstate Park and a member of the Tarpon Free Will Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by one brother Ernest Silcox and one sister Mertie Sally Sutherland. Survivors include his wife of 38 years Peggy Anne Silcox one step-son Marc Allen Walker and wife Heather, Clarkston, MI. along with several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. A Military Graveside will be conducted at 1:00 PM Tuesday December 13, 2011 at the Mountain Home National Cemetery, Johnson City, TN. The family will receive friends after 6 PM Monday evening at the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with a service at 7 PM. Officiating will be Jerry Vitatoe and Jerry Robinson.
