Mitchell Jay Moore age 68, of Apex, NC passed away Saturday, January 27, 2018, in Raleigh, NC after a short illness. Mr. Moore was born January 2, 1950 to the late Burley E. and Leona Dingus Moore.  He was a 1969 graduate of Clintwood High School.  He was a very loving and caring person.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son Kerry Mitchell Moore; 2 brothers, infant Larry Scott Moore and Randall Burley Moore; brother-in-law Raymond Webb; nephew Joshua Adam Moore.

Survivors include his companion and the love of his life, Diane Upchurch of Apex, NC; his son, Jamie Williams and wife DeAnna of Palmyra, PA; 2 brothers, Jessee Lee Moore and wife Judy of Pound, VA, Connie Ray Moore and wife Della of Clintwood; 2 sisters, Eviagean Webb of Clintwood, Shirlene Mullins and husband Lester of Darwin; step-son Travis Upchurch of Apex; step-daughter Tommi Lynn Upchurch of Apex; 3 grandchildren, Myranda Grace Moore of South Hill, VA, Zachary Williams and Camden Williams of Palmyra; step-granddaughter, Harlie Madison Quinn of Apex; several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the Valley View Freewill Baptist Church in Clintwood. Lester Mullins and Lynn Vanover will officiate.
