Millie Susan Smith, age 69, passed away Monday March 23, 2026 Clintwood, Virginia. She was born Roanoke, Virginia the daughter of the late Leonard and Millie Summitt Ross. She moved to Clintwood in 1992. She had worked as a CNA and housekeeping for many years. A loving mother and grandmother, she enjoyed sewing and crocheting in her spare time.

She is preceded in death by her parents, one sister Nancy Pruitt, husbands Gary Roberts, Farley Dutton and David Smith.

She is survived by her children James Roberts and wife Lori, Coeburn, VA., Clayton T. Dutton and wife Haley, Big Stone Gap, VA. and Francescia Hemphill and husband Johnny of Clintwood, VA. her brothers Mark Ross, Covington, VA. Anthony Ross and wife Susan, Locus Grove, VA. William Ross, David Ross, and John Ross all of Louisa, VA. sisters Teresa Beason, Louisa, VA. Angela Sanford, Grenda, MS. And Cynthia Breznick of Clintwood, VA. A grandson Easton Dutton and along with 8 step grandchildren, nieces, nephews and host of other relatives and friends.
