Mildred Virginia Lyall Stanley, age 82, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2026, at Norton Community Hospital. Mrs. Stanley was born in Clinchco, Virginia, the daughter of the late Ruey and Virginia Shearl Lyall. She was a 1963 graduate of Haysi High School. Mrs. Stanley was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was saved at a young age. She wanted everyone saved to join her in heaven.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stanley is preceded in death by her brothers Willie Lyall and James Lyall, and her sisters Dolly Lyall Phipps, Ruby Lyall Bartley, and Opal Lyall Simpson. Mrs. Stanley was the last surviving member of her generation.

Mrs. Stanley is survived by her son, Dave Stanley (Joanne), of Wise, and daughters, Kimberly Ann Stanley of Clintwood, Lisa M. Hines (John Glenn III) of Wise, and Georgetta "Jetta" L. Stanley (Edward) of Pound. She is survived by her five grandchildren Cameron Stanley, Brooke Hines, Nathan Hill, Eddie Stanley, and Paul Stanley. She is also survived by two special grandsons Eli Hibbitts and Matt McKeehen, and her canine companion Riley.

Services for Mildred Virginia Lyall Stanley will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 5th, at the Calvary Baptist Church, located on Dickenson Highway, Clintwood, Virginia. The family will receive friends and family at the church beginning at 12:00 PM until the time of the service. Burial will follow at the Turner Cemetery on Turner Road, Clinchco, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Nathan Hill, Eddie Stanley, Paul Stanley, Dave Stanley, Matt McKeehen, John Hines, Ed Stanley, and Cameron Stanley.
