Mickey Bert Caudill


Mickey Caudill, age 56, passed away Monday, February 24th, 2025 at his home in Clintwood, Virginia after a long, hard, yet courageous battle with cancer. Throughout Mickey's battle with cancer, he never lost hope, finding peace in the promise of eternal life and carried by "love, prayers, and faith". Though Mickey faced immense challenges, his unwavering faith and strength never faltered, serving as an inspiration to all who knew him. Mickey's legacy of love, perseverance, and faith will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.


Mickey was born on February 12th, 1969. Mickey was a member of Peuther Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. Mickey worked in the public throughout the majority of his life. He was a people person and never met a stranger. To know Mickey was to love Mickey. He would truly give the shirt off his back to anyone who he thought may need it.


He was preceded in death by his father; Burtis Caudill, his mother; Tina Welch, his stepfather; Charlie "Pap" Welch, two brothers; Greg Caudill and Jeffery Caudill, a special grandmother; Malinda Buchanan, a special uncle; Lawson "Brutus" Welch.


He is survived by his stepson; Dillon Harris and wife Kaleigh Harris of Clintwood, Virginia, two grandsons who were his pride and joy; Waylon (Tater Bug) Harris and Jessee (Tater Spud) Harris of Clintwood, Virginia, one special sister; Michelle Welch of Glade Springs, Virginia, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins from both the Caudill and Welch families. Special friends; Ernie and Tammy Mullins of Clintwood, Virginia, Scott and Nancy Davis of Clintwood, Virginia, Christy Keith of Clintwood, Virginia. His special doggy and little companion who never left his side, Kokomo.


The family will receive friends on Friday, February the 28th at 12:00 PM at Clintwood Funeral Home. A service to honor Mickey's life will be held at 1:00 pm with Timmy Mullins and Joe Glen Sluss officiating. Burial will follow at Peuther Cemetery.


Pallbearers: Ernie Mullins, Scott Davis, Dillon Harris, Kelvin Eldridge, Jamie Deel, and Mike Fields.


Honorary Pallbearers: Tarncey Mullins, Timmy Mullins, Joe Glen Sluss, Norman Cumbo, Raben Fletcher, and Doug "Burhead" Stanley.
