Melda Faye Church age 75, passed away Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport, Tennessee.  She was born in Clintwood and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Church was a loving wife, mother, and sister. She enjoyed camping, outdoors, wildlife, fishing and family time.

Mrs. Church was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie W. Church; parents, Billie and Anna Stanley Mullins; her sister, Paula Mullins; in-laws, Fred and Gaye Church.

Survivors include two sons, Freddie Church and Julie of Clinchco and Barry Church of Clintwood; one brother, Freddie Mullins and Lovetta of Mooresburg, Tennessee; five sisters, Sue Sutherland, Latrena Raleigh and Rick, Nancy Belcher, Joyce Crabtree all of Clintwood and Denese Osborne  and J.R. of Powell, Tennessee; one grandson, Joseph Ryan Turner; brother and sister-in-law, Lee and Sue Rose of Culpepper, Virginia; several nieces, nephews and other relatives; special care person, Farrah.

Visitation will begin at 6 pm, Tuesday, August 8th, at Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel.  Song service will follow at 7 pm. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 9th, 1 pm at the funeral home with P.J. Rose and Mike Rasnick officiating. Burial will follow at Rasnick Family Cemetery, Nealy Ridge, Clinchco. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
