Marvin Setser, 85, of Clintwood, Virginia, passed away at his home on Thursday, December 26, 2024. He was born in Floyd County, Kentucky, to the late James and Erma (Aldridge) Setser. A graduate of Auxier High School in Auxier, Kentucky, Mr. Setser retired from the Pittston Company and was a devoted Elder of Bethel United Baptist Church in Flat Gap, Kentucky.

Preceding him in death were his beloved wife, Wilma Jean (Howard) Setser; two infant children, Kathy Carol and Scotty; as well as six brothers and four sisters.

He is survived by his sons, James Setser and wife Tracy of Castlewood, Virginia, and Mike Setser of Clintwood, Virginia; grandchildren Scottie Setser, Christa Setser, Kelsey Wright, and Allyson Jenkins; great-grandchildren Riley Setser, Carter Jenkins, Mason Jenkins, Madilyn Wright, William Wright, and Illythia Setser; two brothers, Calvin Setser and wife Shirley of Auxier, Kentucky, and Jimmy Setser and wife Pam of Etna Green, Indiana; and special friends and caregivers, Donnie Mullins and wife April, and Oliver, all of Clintwood, Virginia.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. at Bethel United Baptist Church in Flat Gap, Kentucky. The service will be officiated by Elder David Young, Elder Sammy Reed, and Elder John Calhoun of Bethel United Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Staffordsville, Kentucky. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
