Marty Wayne Stanley, age 55, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Mountain View Regional Medical Center in Norton, Virginia. He was a 1976 graduate of Clintwood High School, an employee of Virginia Department of Transportation for many years and an associate of Mullins Construction. Survivors include his companion of twenty-two years, Loretta Christine Mullins of Coeburn, Virginia; special kids, Nick Whisenhunt, Nola Whisenhunt and Amber Mullins; one brother, Paul Stanley and wife Nancy of Fortworth, Texas; two sisters, Glenda Mullins of Wytheville, Virginia and Patty Stanley of Blountville, Tennessee; special friend, Avery Mullins, Jr.; nieces, April Akers, Melissa Akers, Susan Rose and husband Jeffery and Sherlene Stanley; nephews, Anthony Kelly and Greg Stanley; great nieces, Julia Stanley and Hannah Stanley; great nephews, Caleb Dowdy, Isaiah Dowdy, Aaron Stanley, Jeremiah Walson, Sydney Sexton and Brian Palmer Hose. A service will be held Sunday, January 5th at 2:00 pm in the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Joe Glenn Sluss officiating. Family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at the Mullins Family Cemetery on Caney Ridge. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
