Marlene Yates Mullins age 84, passed away Sunday Sept. 09, 2018 at Oakmont at Gordon Park.

She was the daughter of the late Luther and Bonnie Yates.  A lifelong resident of Clintwood, founding member of the Clintwood Beautification Committee, a member of the Eastern Star and member of the Clintwood Baptist Church. Marlene was a fan of Ralph Stanley and Blue Grass Music, she enjoyed time with family and building bird houses with her husband Claude.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Claude Mullins and a grandson Chad Holmes.

Survivors include her sons; Mitchell Mullins and wife Debbie, Kevin Mullins and wife Sandy, daughter Debbie Holmes and husband Marty all of Clintwood; one brother, Dale Yates and wife Joy, Cleveland, Tennessee; one sister, Rita Stanley of Clintwood; grandchildren, Grantt Mullins, Derek Holmes, Lauren Fisher, Emily Mullins and Amy Mullins; great grandchildren, Luke, Natalie, Ariel, Graham and Jayce; several nieces and nephews and host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services for Marlene Mullins will be conducted at 8 PM Tue. Sept. 11, 2018 in the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Joe Glenn Sluss officiating. Burial will follow Wed. Sept 12, 11:00 AM with a graveside service at the Phipps Memorial Cemetery, Clintwood, VA. Pallbearers will be Derek Holmes, Grantt Mullins, Harry Childress, Marty Childress, Jeremy Fisher, Kenny Johnson, Tony Carr, Wayne Mullins and Mike Mullins.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Kurtz Alderman, Dr. Lurton Lyle, Donald Baker and Roy Mullins. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Tues. evening in the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel.
