Mark Allen McCowan age 50, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, October 3, 2022 at his home in Clinchco. . Mark was a stranger to none and a loyal friend to many. Along with 35 years as a volunteer firefighter with Clinchco Fire Department, he spent a lifetime giving back to his community.

Mark was preceded in death by his father, Millard Philmore McCowan; grandparent, Newt and Della McCowan, Cody and Dorothy Tipton; infant brother, Paul McCowan.

Survivors include his mom, Marlene McCowan; two sisters, Mary McCowan and Kim Dotson; brother-in-law, Rick Dotson; daughters, Victoria and Savannah McCowan; niece, Brandi Kincaid; great-nephew, Gabe Creech; best friends, Brett Stallard, Daniel Carico, Nathan Mullins, Richard Thacker and Corey Turner.

Family will receive friends Wednesday, October 5 ^th , from 4pm until 7pm at Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held at 7 pm with Matt Deel and Rob Knepp officiating. Family and friends are requested to meet at Clintwood Funeral Home on Thursday, October 6 ^th at 12:30 pm to proceed to Phipps Memorial Cemetery, Clintwood, where a graveside service will be conducted. Pallbearers are Corey Turner, Brett Stallard, Daniel Carico, Ron Kendrick, Nathan Mullins and Richard Thacker. Clinchco Volunteer Fire Department members will serve as honorary pallbearers
