Margie E. Sluss, age 87, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2012. Mrs. Sluss was a life long resident of Dickenson County and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, Preston and Victoria Edwards Powers, her husband, Guy C. Sluss, two brothers and four sisters. Survivors include one son, Guy Sluss and wife Vanessa of Pound, Virginia; one daughter, Lethia Powers and husband Randall of Clintwood; one brother James M. Powers and wife Liz of Colorado; one sister, Edra Burke and husband J.L. of Coeburn, Virginia; four grandchildren, Tyler and Rachel Sluss, Michael D. Reynolds and Steven D. Phipps; one great grandchild, Sophia Nicole Phipps. Funeral services will be Saturday, October 20th, in the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel at 7:00 pm with James Moore officiating. Family will receive friends after 6:00 pm. A graveside service will begin at 2:00 pm, Sunday at the Rugsby Church Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
