Margaret S. Porter of Norton passed away Sept. 22, 2014, at Mt. View Regional Medical Center. Margaret was 95 years old and was born in Clintwood May 3, 1919. She was the daughter of the late Dr. J.C. and Lydia Rasnick Sutherland. She attended Norton First Church of God prior to her declining health. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband York Porter; sister Agnes Gilliam; brothers Stuart and Dr. A.R. "Reid" Sutherland. She is survived by her daughter, Delores Gibson and husband Tom of Norton; son York W. Porter and wife Lois of Albany, Ky.; grandchildren Scott Pippin and wife Kathy, and Michelle Porter; great-grandchildren, Daniel and David Pippin; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:00-6:00 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, 2014, at Clintwood-Colley Funeral home, and a service officiated by Rev. Joe Glenn Sluss will follow immediately. A private family gathering will take place at Temple Hill Memorial Park on Saturday.
