Mabel " Polly" Clear Ratliffe passed away Sat. Sept. 25, 2010 at the Mountain View Regional Medical Center, Norton, Virginia. She was born Feb. 13, 1930 the daughter of the late Harve and Annie Hubble Clear. She was a Registered Nurse graduating from both business and nursing colleges. She worked with the several hospitals including Marion, Stuart Circle and the Sutherland Clinic. She is preceded in death by her parents, one daughter and four brothers. She is survived by her husband of 57 years Clyde Ratliffe, one son Norman Ratliffe both of Clintwood, one daughter Rebecca K. Scariano and husband Jack, three grandchildren all of Knoxville, TN. Two sisters Evelyn Pratt and Mildred Olinger, along with several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends after 6 PM Tues. Sept. 28, 2010 at the Clintwood Funeral Home chapel with funeral services at 7 PM, Pastor Joe Glenn Sluss will be officiating. Burial will follow Wed. at 11 AM with a graveside service at the Phipps Memorial Cemetery, Main Street, Clintwood. Pallbearers will be Gary Harless, Rex Baker, Marshall Hughes, Alvin Baker, Jr., Clyde Blair and Bill Gilliam. Honorary Pallbearers will be Don King, John Branham, Harold Stanley, Clarence Wright Jr., Ben Sutherland and Buford Barrett.
