Obituary

Veronica Lynn (Granny) Dotson, 73, daughter of Junior and Jeanean (Fleming) Fleming, peacefully passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2023 in Kingsport, Tennessee where she leaves family and too many friends to count. Lynn always welcomed anyone to the table and made sure you knew you were loved, at the end of the day. All knew if she loved you, she fed you to death. She loved music and dancing, in fact, as young girls, she and her sister Sheila were well known to cut the rug. No matter where she was, the dance floor beckoned. Her infectious laughter and kindness will always be present as we learn to carry on without her touch.

Though only a few could claim it, all knew her as Granny. She touched many hearts, young and old, during her life. She was a dedicated wife to deceased husband, Danny M. Dotson for 50 exciting years, an impactful Mother to her daughter Melissa (Dotson) Keith and husband Scott Keith as well as her son, William (Billy) Dotson and wife Lara Dotson. She loved all the children of our family, but was an unmatched Grandmother to her grandchildren Joshua Gilreath, Britney (Dotson) Baker and Ayden Dotson, all of whom made her life complete. Great Grandchildren include Ella Gilreath, Brenton Baker, Easton Gilreath, Charleston Baker.

Her immediate family was one of those exceptional families. Every occasion was always filled with love. She will be missed by her sisters Sheila (Fleming) Meade, Beverly Fleming and brother William Blake Fleming with wife Joy Fleming and a special sister-in-law, Jody (Dotson) Hodge, who was a great caretaker for Lynn. These along with several nieces, nephews and their families, which she left a loving impression, and a world of friends she hugged daily. We would be remiss if we didn't mention the love she had for the infamous 1st Cousins.

Upon the family's request, a service for she and Danny will take place in January 2024 after the holiday season. In lieu of flowers, we ask that any donations be made to her passion for sobriety at the District 1, Kingsport AA group at The Renaissance Center. Send your gift of honor to President, Mike Mazzotta, 527 Sequoyah, Kingsport, TN 37660 or Venmo: @mmazzott89
