Lydia Ellen Killen Vanover, age 69, passed away March 31st, at Indian Path Medical Center, Kingsport, Tennessee. Mrs. Vanover was a life long resident of Clintwood, where she worked as a hair dresser. She was a beloved mother, sister and wife and an avid homemaker. Mrs. Vanover was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Vanover and her husband loved to travel visiting many countries. Mrs. Vanover was preceded in death by her parents Marvin and Georgia Mullins Killen, brothers James Killen and Lummie Killen; sisters, Eula Mae Killen and Genoa Killen, two brother in laws Carol Mckenzie and O'Dell Mullins. Survivors include her husband Jimmie W. Vanover and daughter Lura Vanover and companion Jeff Killen all of Clintwood, One brother Charlie Killen and wife Virgie of Lebanon, VA., five sisters; Rosella Mckenzie, Inetta Mullins, Billie Mullins and husband Paul, and Linda Killen all of Clintwood, Sheena Boggs and husband Voyn, Star Tannery, VA. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Lydia Ellen Killen Vanover will be conducted at 11:00 AM Sat. April 3, 2010 at the Clintwood Funeral Home chapel with Charlie Killen and Bryant Owens officiating. Entombment will follow at a later date in the Phipps Memorial Cemetery, Main Street Clintwood. Pallbearers will be Jeff Killen, Eric Curtis Vanover, Terry Paul Mullins, Richard Morris, James O. Mullins and Chris Mullins. Honorary Pallbearers will be Nieces and Nephews. The Family will receive friends from 6 - 8. PM with service at 8 PM. Friday evening with visitation at Clintwood Funeral Home.
