Lucille Mullins Powers Adkins age 93, passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter and son-in-law where she had resided for the past four years. She was born to William "Bill" and Vonda Boggs Mullins. She was a wonderful homemaker who took great pride in her home, yard, flowers, as well as her skills in crocheting and quilting. She loved her family dearly. Mrs. Adkins had been an active member of Lick Fork FWB Church for over 50 years, until her health declined so badly. She was strong in her faith and loved her Savior.
Mrs. Adkins was preceded in death by her parents, both of her husbands, Burness Powers, the father of her children, and her second husband, Herman Adkins. She was also preceded in death by five brothers, Carton, Edison, Edward, Eulice and Garcie. Along with three sisters, Cotella M. Powers, Lorene M. Fleming and an infant sister, Irene Mullins, a granddaughter Wendy Powers, a step-son Chuck Adkins.
She is survived by her three children, sons Steve Powers and wife Connie of Abingdon, VA. Mark Powers and wife Dorothy of Bristol, VA. and daughter Gwen Yates and husband Mike, Clintwood, VA. Two step-daughters Teresa Robinson and husband Jim, Statesville, NC. And Helen Artrip, Clintwood, VA. Her grandchildren Bridgett Steele and husband Kevin, Richmond, KY. Todd Powers and wife Misty, Forest, VA. Neil Powers and wife April, Bristol, TN. Sharla Hamilton and husband Tim, Clintwood, VA. Beth Anne P. Price, Bristol, VA. Stephen Powers, Bristol, VA. Great Grandchildren are Lucas Damron and wife Hannah, Writz, VA. Warren Damron, Roanoke, VA., Abbey, Caelen and Jonas Price, Bristol, VA. Elliott Powers and Evangeline, Forest, VA. Great Great Grandchildren are Liliana and Rowan Damron and Kasey Cox. She is also survived by two brothers, Kyle Mullins and wife Blanche, Pahrump, NV. And Roy Mullins and wife Charlene, Speedwell, TN. One sister Bureata Dawkins, Panacea, FL. Along with nieces, nephews and host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 PM Sunday August 31, 2025, Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Don Barnes and Allen Viers. The family will receive friends from 5 PM till service time. The Grave side service will follow 11 AM on Monday at the Powers Cemetery, Powers Branch Road, Clintwood, with Grandsons serving as pallbearers, honorary pallbearers will be Tim Hamiton and Kevin Steele. The family requested to meet at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations are to be made to Lick Fork FWB Church PO Box 648 Clintwood, VA. 24228.
