Obituary

Lorraine C. Blevins, 84 of Rutledge, Tennessee passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at the home of her daughter in Coeburn, Virginia.

A former resident of Dickenson County, she had lived in Rutledge, Tennessee for the past twenty-five years. She had resided in Coeburn with her daughter for the last three years.

Lorraine loved to crochet, work crossword puzzles, and enjoyed watching westerns. She will always be remembered for her strong will and her faith in the Lord.

She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-six years Cowan Blevins; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Counts; brother, Lyman Counts; sister, Charlotte Counts; one granddaughter, Christi Lea Blevins.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Danny and Debra Blevins of Bean Station, Tennessee, Robert and Becky Blevins of Columbia, South Carolina, AC and Vicki Blevins of Coeburn, Virginia, David and Cindy Blevins of Floyd, Virginia, Kenny and Christy Blevins of Wise, Virginia; daughter and son-in- law, Susan and Danny Hamm of Coeburn, Virginia; brothers, Wayne Counts of Clintwood, Durwood Counts of Clifton Forge, Virginia; sisters, Rita Vance of Coeburn and Paula Gregory of Wingate, North Carolina; thirteen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; special pet "Fiesty Boy"; special friend and caregiver Donna Adams.

Visitation service will be held at Clintwood Funeral Home, Clintwood, Virginia on Friday, June 8th from 5 PM until 7 PM.  Services will begin at 7 PM.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 9th at 11 AM at Rugsby Freewill Baptist Church, Caney Ridge section of Coeburn, with Charlie Brewer officiating.  Entombment will follow in the Rugsby Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Patrick Blevins, Robert Patrick Blevins, Brian Blevins, Ben Blevins, Andrew Blevins and Danny Hamm.

Honorary pallbearers are Rita Vance, Paula Gregory, Delores Powers, Avanell Blevins, Gale Smith, Shirley Taylor, Mildred Jones, Kaki Smith and Barbara Tracey.
