Betty Loraine Powers "Lori", age 56, passed away on February 13th, 2018 at Bristol Regional Medical Center after battling leukemia bravely for over a year. Lori was the daughter of the late Burl and Sally Stanley. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister Flora Jean Stiltner. She was a devout Christian and attended Shepherd Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband Jimmie Powers JR of Clintwood; her son Tim Powers and wife Michelle; daughter Heather Lynch and husband Derek; 5 grandchildren who adored her, Koen and Ty Powers and Kaleigh, Addie, and Jacey Lynch; 1 sister, Francis Edwards; 2 brothers Freddie and Danny Stanley; numerous special nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends, February 15th, 2018 at 11:00 am in the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel. Song and funeral services will begin at 12 noon. Song service led by New Harvest Brothers and Brenda Price. Terry Price, Roger Bevins, Les Vankuren and Jeff Houck will be conducting services. Burial will follow in the Powers Family Cemetery on Powers Branch. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Special thanks to Vanderbilt Hematology and Stem Cell Clinics as well as Bristol Regional Medical Center and Bristol Cancer Center staff. We also had several friends and family members that we would like to express heartfelt appreciation too that donated a significant amount of time in Nashville and at home assisting with travel to appointments, food, raising money, and donating money to assist with Mom's long battle against leukemia.
