Della Lorena Trent McClellan, 87, passed away the morning of March 11, 2024. She was born to the late Lydia Mae and Victor Lee Trent on June 21, 1936 and raised by her paternal grandparents, Arthur and Lena Trent. Lorena graduated from Ervinton High School in 1955. She retired after 20 years as secretary at Ervinton Elementary School.

She married the late Leslie McClellan in 1956, and they lived together in Clintwood, VA for almost 40 years before relocating to Abingdon, VA. Lorena is survived by her daughter, Debbie McClellan Mullins and husband, Mitchell, of Blountville, TN; grandson, Grantt Mullins and wife, Jennifer, great-grandchildren Natalie and Luke of Roanoke, VA; and granddaughter, Lauren Fisher and husband, Jeremy, and great-grandson, Austin, of Kingsport, TN; half-sisters Deloris Johnson and Joy Johnson, and half-brother, Jack Trent, all of Hampton Roads, VA.

Lorena was predeceased by her loving husband, Leslie, in 2001; brother Larry Trent of Hampton Roads, VA and Carolyn Piper of Richmond, VA.

Lorena was also a skilled homemaker. She had a green thumb and could make even the saddest plant thrive. Her favorite flowers were roses, and she grew many colors and types. She quilted in the winter and canned food in the summer. She had the most beautiful handwriting and great taste in jewelry, clothes, and shoes. She was enterprising, resourceful, and smart. Lorena was immensely proud of her family, and we are grateful for all she taught us.

Services to honor and celebrate the life of Lorena Trent McClellan will be held on March 14, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Temple Hill Memorial Park located at 2529 Memorial Drive, Castlewood, VA.
