Lola Mae Kennedy age, 79, passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2012. Mrs. Kennedy was a life long resident of Dickenson County and a member of Ramey Flatts Church of the Brethren. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Mrs. Kennedy was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Gladys Minnicks Brooks; husband, Luther Kennedy; one daughter, Melissa Whitt; three brothers and four sisters. Survivors include two sons, Robert Kennedy and Brian Kennedy of Clintwood; three daughters, Linda Huff and husband Jimmy of Clinchco, Glenda Stanley and husband Kyle, Teresa Booker and husband Billy all of Clintwood; two brothers, Don Brooks and wife Roxie of Haysi, Michael Brooks and wife Karen of Dimondale, Michigan; three sisters, Doris Adams and husband Howard of Dimondale, Michigan, Joyce Brooks and husband, Kenny of Haysi, and Betty Gilbert of Abingdon, Virginia; five grandchildren; Dustin Kennedy, Travis Stanley, Amanda Whitt, Angela Stanley and Alexis Huff; one great grandchild, Jace Rylan Pratt. Funeral services will be conducted, Friday, November 2nd, at 1:00 pm in the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jack Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at the Phipps Memorial Cemetery, Clintwood, Virginia with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Family will receive friends at the funeral home, Thursday, November 1st, after 6:00 pm, with a service beginning at 7:00 pm.
