Lillie Artie Ratliff, age 80, of Clinchco, Virginia passed away Tuesday, February 12th, 2008 at Mountain View Regional Hospital, Norton, Virginia. Born in Buchanan County, she was the daughter of the late Mack and Annie Charles Sutherland. She was preceded in death by one brother Kedna Charles and several half-brothers and sisters. She was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church and was a wonderful and loving mother and grandmother. Survivors include her husband, Donal G. Ratliff of Clinchco, four sons, Roy (Gail) Garrett of Lily Kentucky, Louie (Nancy) Garrett of Haysi, Virginia, Michael Garrett and Tony Garrett of Clinchco, Virginia. Two daughters, Lois (Sam) Edwards and Tempa (Michael) Rasnick of Clinchco, Virginia. Survivors, also, include three brothers, Richard (Lorraine) Charles of Tarpon, Virginia, Nelson (Nan) Charles, and Jerry Charles of Clinchco. One sister, Trinnie (Walter) O'Quinn of Hollister Florida and a special sister-in-law Vada Jane Charles of Kentucky. Other survivors include one half-brother, Fred Charles of Toledo, Ohio, fourteen grandchildren, twenty three great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Honorable mention to Dr. Shamiyeh, April Stidham and Kay Burke. Funeral services for Lillie Artie Ratliff will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 16th, 2008 at the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ed Slemp officiating. Burial will follow at the Rasnick Cemetery on Nealy Ridge. The family will receive friends after 5:00 PM Friday at the Clintwood Funeral Home chapel with a song service at 6:00 PM. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
