Edward Kelly Artrip, a lifelong resident of the Dwale community passed away suddenly on Monday, May 21, at the Pikeville Medical Center. Kelly was born on November 29, 1944 and served in the United States Army. Mr. Artrip was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Jasper and Cora Artrip, two brothers, Ray and Bill Artrip and a son Terry Lynn Artrip. Survivors include his sister Joyce Nell Mullins of Dwale, two nieces, Paula Jo Mullins and Peggy Stallard of Fredericksburg, Virginia, numerous cousins and several close friends. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 24, 6:00pm until 7:30pm in the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel, with a short service following the visitation. Interment will be at 11:00am, Friday, May 25 at the Artrip Family Cemetery in Dwale. Friends can meet at 10:30am at the Clintwood Funeral Home for a procession to the cemetery. Pallbearers will be Richard Sluss, Alex Sluss, Jessie Mullins, Robert Monahan, Eddie Monahan, Joe Harvey Shortt and David Ross Branham.
